A mother who was planning to send her 16-year-old twin sons to
Syria to join a jihadist group has been sent to prison without bail,
while the boys’ father has walked free
A judge at Spain’s High Court, has sent the mother to prison without bail on charges of collaborating with a terrorist organization.
He believed it was she who was behind the plan to send her twin sons to Syria, having obtained the necessary paperwork for their journey.
The woman and her husband, both from Morocco, were arrested in Badalona on Tuesday March 31st along with their two sons, who, according to Spain’s Interior Ministry, were just about to board a plane to Syria.
The teens had been in contact with jihadist recruitment networks for help in organizing their trip, which was to take them into Syria through Turkey, according to the authorities.
The ministry said the brothers had been under surveillance since a third brother had traveled to Syria, where he is believed to have "joined jihadis
