Ireland passes emergency drug law to close legal loophole

  The Irish parliament's passed an emergency law that will close a loophole which has left it legal to possess drugs such as ecstasy
A range of other drugs in the same class including ketamine and crystal meth became legal on Tuesday after a court challenge.
The new legislation will officially be signed into law on Wednesday afternoon.
It will come into force at midnight meaning many drugs remain legal until then
